Director - Solar Development

The Solar Development team at RWE Renewables Americas is responsible for initiating, developing, and acquiring utility-scale solar PV plus energy storage projects in the US and Canada. The Director will play a key role in delivering renewable energy projects in alignment with RWE's strategy in North America.

 

Your Future Plans:

 

  • Serve as regional lead for project origination and development, including overseeing negotiation of site control agreements, managing site surveys and due diligence, securing land use and environmental approvals, and advancing projects through the interconnection process, and assisting with energy marketing
  • Oversee and manage regional solar development budget and schedules, along with regional project KPIs
  • Help manage the internal financial approval process for assigned development projects in alignment with company strategy and goals
  • Coordinate with internal teams on interconnection, new market evaluation, and power marketing for assigned region
  • Interface with and coordinate inputs from subject matter experts, including engineering, legal, procurement, and construction personnel, as needed to ensure effective execution of regional solar projects
  • Manage team of 1-3 Senior Development Manager and Development Managers, including prioritizing workload, providing project development guidance and setting individual performance targets

 

Your Powerful Skills:

 

  • Several years of work experience, minimum of 4 years experience in solar, utility scale PV development in North America
  • Experience in the full project development life-cycle, including market analysis, origination/greenfielding, permitting, late-stage development, and project financing and equity transactions
  • Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary internal and external teams to develop and assess risks to project pipeline
  • Ability to manage less experienced team members and complete assigned tasks on schedule
  • Proven analytical skills and presentation skills
