RWE Americas is seeking an IT/OT Project Manager to lead and deliver complex, cross-functional initiatives that drive technology-based strategic outcomes across the organization. This role requires a versatile practitioner who can effectively operate across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models, tailoring execution approaches to align with project objectives, stakeholder needs, and organizational priorities.

 

The ideal candidate brings strong planning and execution discipline, with the ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk while fostering collaboration across business and technical teams. They will play a key role in driving transparency, enabling decision-making, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality results in dynamic and evolving environments.

 

 

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Scrum Master
    • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring structured and effective meetings
    • Actively coach team members, stakeholders, and Product Owners on Agile principles, roles, and frameworks to improve Agile maturity within IT/OT teams
    • Partner with Product Owners to refine and prioritize backlogs, ensuring stories and tasks are clearly defined and aligned with program objectives
    • Identify and remove impediments or blockers affecting team performance by collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and escalating issues when necessary
    • Track sprint progress and delivery performance using velocity and burn-down charts, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement
    • Foster a safe environment for team members to openly discuss challenges, experiment with new ideas, and adopt iterative delivery improvements
    • Act as a servant leader, shielding teams from external disruptions, enabling focus on sprint commitments, and maintaining team morale
    • Facilitate dependency management and coordination with other Scrum Masters and teams within scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS)
    • Create and distribute sprint reports and dashboards that summarize progress, accomplishments, and risks for stakeholders and leadership
    • Advocate for Agile best practices across the enterprise, supporting organizational Agile transformation initiatives and participating in coaching forums
    • Assist with the adoption of Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) to track progress, maintain transparency, and provide actionable metrics
    • Promote team alignment with IT/OT governance frameworks and enterprise compliance requirements while maintaining delivery agility
    • Conduct retrospectives and other continuous improvement practices and ensure documentation and learns are shared across teams​
    • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate core project governance activities, including project kickoff, status meetings, phase reviews, and stakeholder updates, ensuring clear communication and alignment
  • Project Management
    • Guide project teams and stakeholders on delivery frameworks, processes, and roles, supporting effective execution across Waterfall and hybrid methodologies
    • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, resources, and cost baselines, ensuring alignment with program and organizational objectives
    • Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, and dependencies; drive resolution through cross-functional coordination and appropriate escalation
    • Monitor project performance against established baselines using KPIs, earned value metrics, and milestone tracking; provide actionable insights and corrective actions as needed
    • Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment that encourages transparency, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
    • Lead project execution with a focus on delivery discipline, ensuring teams remain aligned to commitments while managing competing priorities and constraints
    • Coordinate interdependencies across projects, teams, and business units to ensure integrated delivery and minimize execution risk
    • Prepare and deliver comprehensive status reports, dashboards, and executive updates highlighting progress, key milestones, risks, and financial performance
    • Promote adherence to project management standards, governance frameworks, and organizational best practices while supporting continuous improvement initiatives
    • Oversee the use of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps) to ensure accurate tracking, documentation, and reporting
    • Ensure compliance with IT/OT governance, regulatory requirements, and internal controls throughout the project lifecycle
    • Lead lessons learned sessions and post-project reviews; document and disseminate insights to improve future project delivery

 

Job Requirements and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field of study
  • PMP, SAFe, and other project management related certifications are a plus
  • Minimum 3 yrs relevant experience
  • Ability to manage complex projects including but not limited to prioritization of critical path, escalation of risks and issues, management of stakeholders, and problem-solving with workstream
  • Renewables or broader energy industry experience preferred however other CAPEX-intensive B2B industries are relevant
  • Familiarity with various IT & OT operating models including shared services, centralized / decentralized support models, vendor partnership, and self-managed
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer and service provider relationships
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Project, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Strong leadership, influence, and communication skills
  • Emerging skills using AI to automate and accelerate workflows (e.g., ChatGPT, NotebookLM, etc.)
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Is a team player embracing the spirit of continuous improvement personally and within the team
  • Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
  • This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWE Americas offices and field locations
  • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois or New York is $96,000 - $144,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
