Your role

 

Reporting to the UK & US Team Lead, the IT Floorwalker will be responsible for: 

  • Onsite and Remote IT Support: Deliver expert support for all client-based equipment, including desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers, and specialized local infrastructure components. 
  • Technical Expertise and Services: Provide specialized technical support for Executives, Traders, IT developers, and general office users, ensuring application performance and service availability. Deliver 1st and 2nd line engineering support for installations, problem resolution, testing, commissioning, and decommissioning of IT equipment and infrastructure. 
  • IT Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Design, plan, build, and install IT equipment at new and existing locations, ensuring alignment with Group standards across trading and office environments. 
  • Infrastructure Assistance: Act as onsite support for local IT computer room equipment (e.g., servers, switches, routers), collaborating with RWE Service Owners and external providers. 
  • Incident, Request & Problem Management: Own and resolve IT incidents and requests, driving continuous service quality improvements and proactive incident avoidance.  Independently resolve complex issues, assessing their business impact and communicating effectively with relevant teams. 
  • Knowledge Management: Develop knowledge base articles for known issues and solutions, contributing to the organization's technical knowledge library. 
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build trust and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders and international IT teams. 
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with third-party vendors within an outsourced delivery model, ensuring the quality of IT services meets agreed standards across all locations within the area of responsibility. Take ownership of service performance, addressing any issues promptly and driving continuous improvement. 
  • Team Collaboration: Work with global colleagues to harmonize best practices, contributing to a multi-skilled Field Service Specialists team. 

 

Your powerful skills

 

  • 3+ years of experience delivering on-site IT infrastructure services in large, complex organizations. 
  • Strong understanding of IT technologies, including expertise in Microsoft & Apple ecosystems and End User Services operations. 
  • ITIL V4 certification (Foundation level or higher). 
  • Experience in working with third-party providers, including managed service providers. 
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes. 
  • Strong communication skills at working levels to inspire and drive change. 
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multiple locations and levels within an organization. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to tackling challenges. 
  • Experience managing conflicting business demands in a high-pressure environment. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including cultural and ethical awareness. 
  • Resilient, patient, and able to perform effectively under pressure. 
  • Self-reliant with the ability to work independently and take initiative. 
  • Experience working with international, multi-disciplinary, and multi-site teams. 
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the US, and internationally as needed.
