We are seeking a seasoned Director of Compensation to join our dynamic HR team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in compensation management including managing full-cycle compensation reviews for companies with at least 1000 employees.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Compensation department (including one direct report) by providing guidance and oversight for incentive plans and programs, enterprise job architecture design, merit and salary structure design and administration, systems and technology solutions, governance-related activities and deliverables, and all aspects of compensation advising and consultation
  • Provide expertise, as well as project leadership in all aspects of compensation including but not limited to short and long-term incentive plan design, retention plans, and market data analysis
  • Lead the annual compensation review and processes for all employees, including salary/merit increases, promotions, annual incentive plan (AIP), and annual team plan payout
  • Conduct compensation benchmarking, including market pricing, pay mix, and internal equity review to ensure the competitive analysis of compensation programs aligns with the overall pay philosophy
  • Provide consultation to the HR team on compensation processes including new hires, promotions, and transitions
  • Collaborate with HR partners to integrate compensation practices with performance management processes, ensuring alignment between pay and performance while fostering a culture of high performance and accountability
  • Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to compensation, ensuring compliance and adherence to governance requirements
  • Develop communication strategies and materials to educate employees on compensation programs, policies, and practices, fostering transparency, understanding, and engagement across the organization
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including team managing executive comp in Germany, Finance, and senior leadership, to design and execute effective compensation programs. Partner with HR Operations, HRIS, and Payroll teams to ensure seamless and accurate tracking and administration of compensation programs

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CCP, CBP) preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in compensation management, with a track record of success in designing and implementing effective compensation programs. A combination of education, certifications, and experience will also be considered
  • Deep understanding of compensation principles, practices, and methodologies, with specific expertise in job architecture, evaluation, salary benchmarking, and incentive design
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven recommendations
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to clearly define problems, collect data, draw conclusions, and influence others to implement recommendations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience leading and developing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism, with a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of compensation and rewards
  • Experience in project management including scoping, planning, and execution with attention to detail and deadlines; ability to manage multiple initiatives

 

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $150,000 - $185,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
