The Associate, Investment & Valuation will be a key member of our Investment & Valuation (I&V) team, bringing renewable energy projects forward for investment decisions at RWE Clean Energy (RWECE). Our I&V team enables value-added growth by providing analysis and critical advice to our colleagues in the business while ensuring strong governance around investment decisions. The Associate will work closely both with our I&V team and with colleagues from the whole Finance community and broader Renewables business. Our team environment is high-energy. Responsibilities:

  • Support the strong growth ambitions of our Renewables business (including utility-scale solar PV, onshore wind, battery storage, and hydrogen) in the Americas 
  • Support on developing quantitative and qualitative analyses of investment opportunities, and effectively communicate results
  • Collect and ensure completeness as well as validity of inputs to investment decisions, especially those inputs that are key to valuation results
  • Support investment decision processes, preparation of papers and presentations for the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Directors at RWECE
  • Support on identifying and implementing improvements to our investment processes and valuation models, including the use of digital solutions
  • Support internal ad-hoc projects with direct senior management involvement
  • Support other members of the I&V team as required, including quality control reviews

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or similar university degree, required

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Finance roles (including internships), required

  • Knowledge of valuation methodologies (especially DCF) and of financial modeling (Excel), required

  • Communication and presentation skills, required

  • Interest in renewable energy or energy markets, required

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships

  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space

  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables

  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities

  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable

  • Detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $66,000 - $99,000 . The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
