As we continue to expand our portfolio of renewable energy projects, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Asset Management South Intern to join our dynamic team for a 12-week summer internship.

 

RWE Clean Energy's Asset Management team takes accountability for the commercial success of a >10 GW portfolio of renewable energy assets. Through close collaboration with Operations & Maintenance and various Financial stakeholders, the team drives tactical and strategic initiatives, optimizing the performance of all assets.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a combination of routine tasks supporting the team and project work that they have the sole responsibility for (e.g., developing business cases for improvement projects at an operating asset)
  • Assist the Asset Manager in driving the profitability of wind, solar, and battery storage assets by analyzing operational and financial performance and identifying the causes of underperformance
  • Support the development, implementation, and management of production enhancement or cost savings initiatives resulting from the performance analysis.
  • Process Improvements: Implement and continuously improve local asset management systems and processes consistent with organizational policies and standards
  • Financial Management: Assist in the budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of individual assets; Drive long-term profitability and risk minimization
  • Monthly Reporting: Review monthly operating reports; support in the presentation of monthly availability and financial analysis for internal stakeholders
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Assist in developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans by studying market conditions and internal operational needs, identify technological and commercial opportunities, present assumptions, and recommend objectives and executing of strategies necessary to achieve agreed performance targets

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Enrolled in an accredited US university program, pursuing either an undergraduate or master's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with multiple internal stakeholders
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Teams
  • Financial modeling and analytical skills and technical expertise in the renewable energy industry
  • Strong commercial acumen and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to translate technical findings into commercial implications
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
  • This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE offices and field locations
  • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
