RWE Renewables Hellas is looking for a full time Project Manager Development for the solar PV, BESS and onshore wind Project Development Team in Greece.
In the role as Project Manager you will be a member of the Development team responsible for the coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of the projects. In the role you will build relationships with external stakeholders such as suppliers, JV partners, governmental authorities, etc. You will be responsible for the development of projects from an early stage to hand over for construction. You will be based in our local office in Athens and report to the Head of Development Greece.
Your tasks:
- Successfully develop and deliver assigned solar PV, BESS and onshore wind projects in Greece until hand over to construction according to agreed timeline, strategic targets, budget and quality, providing timely and transparent communication to all function involved including activities such as land securing, permitting, grid connection, contract negotiations, diligence conductions, resource and energy yield assessments, engineering, EPC + O&M Tendering, etc
- Originate projects, including identifying project opportunities, connection feasibility, project planning, land securing, resourcing, coordination, execution, control and monitoring, budgeting, scheduling and reporting;
- Ensure ready to build status for projects under defined time schedule and budget, manage project/process documentation and ensuring it is up to date;
- Conduct stakeholder management with stakeholders such as authorities, JV partners, regional bodies, advisors, suppliers and project specific stakeholders;
- Build and cultivate relationships with land owners effected by the assigned projects in order to establish and maintain a positive link with the local communities in the interest of the project success;
- Foster and manage close relationships with relevant internal supporting departments, coordinate tasks and inputs of the development and engineering teams and support additional functions as legal, tax and finance teams;
- Promote our high HSE standards and procedures; share local insights and ensure that global best practices and learnings get implemented locally;
- Assist in the creation of a highly-effective local organization in accordance with RWE policies and procedures, ensure compliance with RWE standards, directives, processes and best practices;
Your profile:
- Excellent university degree in engineering/planning and/or renewable energy
- Good knowledge of CAD/GIS software
- Extensive knowledge of Solar PV, onshore wind project, BESS, development processes and framework in Greece and deep knowledge of site securing and permitting process
- Significant proven work experience (5 or more years) in developing large scale solar and/or wind development projects
- Strong analytical skills, self-motivated, structured and proactive working approach
- Show strategic thinking capabilities, push the boundaries to grow the business, show continuous improvement attitude by constantly optimizing the business
- Results oriented and able to balance a varied and challenging workload, whilst producing high quality results in demanding timeframes
- Ability to analyze and summarize complex development topics and aggregate decision-relevant information into sound decision proposals to convey messages clearly and concisely
- Hands-on approach, flexible, confident and open minded manner, especially for cultural differences
- Ability to be proactive and take responsibility for a wide range of matters, while responding to business demands
- Profound and detailed understanding of relevant market dynamics
- Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly for leading/ participating in virtual teams drawn from across different functions
- Very good communication skills and high level assertiveness and communication skills in an international environment and the ability to build effective relationship at all levels
- Willingness and availability to travel in Greece and abroad
- Native Greek speaker and business proficiency in English language, other languages is a plus
