Your future plans
As an IT Architect - Connectivity, Network Security & Unified Communication (Sen.), you will play a central role at RWE in in a future-proof manner for the entire Group at over 250 locations. We are looking for you and your expertise to implement the company-specific network and unified communication (UC) architecture and strategy in order to continuously align the network and UC landscape with the strategic goals of the Group together with internal and external partners and providers.
You will be part of the "Connectivity and Unified Communication" department, which is responsible for the network and network security, including 2nd and 3rd level. The spectrum includes not only operation, maintenance and support, but also design, implementation and further development of the infrastructure on a project basis for the entire group.

• As an IT Architect - Connectivity, Network Security & Unified Communication, you will be responsible for defining the IT architecture by balancing tactical business requirements, strategic value creation and technological future-proofing with a view to the overall optimum of the IT landscape by specification and clarification for projects and demands
• Architecture Management:
  • Architecture approval for MFP-C topics (Team lead / Head-Of approval also required)
  • Documentation of architecture decisions
  • Architecture roadmap for the department
  • Creation and maintenance of architectural documents
  • Responsible architecture governance for MFP-C (Accountable is Head-Of)
  • Representation of the department in other RWE architecture forums
• Technology and market scouting
• Consult subject matter experts with solution design
• Support with governance, risk, compliance and IT-Security alignments
• Support with any integration topics outside of the MFP-C domain
• Interface to RWE business partner, IT infra portfolio management and RWE business stakeholder related to architecture topics
• Consult on business cases or tenders for new projects, technologies or suppliers
• Prototyping new technologies
   

Your powerful skills

• Several years of professional experience in network technologies, cloud (Azure & AWS), unified communications and managing partners and providers
• Excellent knowledge in development, design and operation of cloud network services incl Zero Trust Network Access
• Excellent knowledge in telephony services, collaboration like Chat, Voice, Video Conferencing, Video broadcast and media services
• Solid understanding of services like IPAM, ext. DNS and domain management
• Solid end-to-end understanding in the area of network & connectivity 
• Goal and team orientation, analytical and organisational skills as well as conceptual, analytical and solution-oriented thinking and working 
• Understanding of overarching technical and commercial contexts as well as strong interpersonal and methodological skills 
• Business fluent in English and German and willingness to travel 

Advantageous, but not a must

• Experience with hybrid cloud networking 
• Understanding of on premise networking technology stack (willingness to learn it)
• Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Python and AzureDevOps
• Cloud Certifications such as Azure Network Engineer Associate or AWS Certified Advanced Networking
