The Director, Repower is responsible for preparing existing wind energy projects to be repowered, either partially, through the replacement of original components with new ones (component repower), or completely, through replacement of the original wind turbines with new ones (brownfield repower).

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare a repower development plan and schedule
  • Create a project team of internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactively manage the following workstreams needed to deliver a fully construction-ready project, including, but not limited to:
    • Permitting 
    • Environmental
    • Legal/Real Estate
    • Resource Assessment
    • Transmission/Interconnection
    • Electrical/Civil Engineering
    • Procurement
    • Valuation
    • Preconstruction
    • Construction
    • Operations
  • Proactively manage, mitigate, and eliminate issues that would delay the project schedule or impact the project budget  
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders and provide them with appropriate direction and focus to ensure alignment of project goals and objectives in accomplishing tasks and activities
  • Solve problems, drive issues to resolution, and close out projects
  • Motivate a team, provide leadership, and communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience in renewable energy (wind, solar, and storage)  project development
  • Experience, and high comfort level in communicating and problem-solving with landowners
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
  • Very strong financial, analytical, conceptual and project management skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work professionally and accurately under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Highly collaborative team player
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus
